  1. Dont know what has taken place. My previously captured dv avi files now playback very jerky. The only hardware change in my sytem was a video card. Went from an old ATI 7200 Radeon to an Nvidia 5700. However, I may not still have the same codecs on my system that I had when I captured from my dv camera. I am up for all suggestions. I think I still have the originals on tape. If need be, I can capture again. I have defragmented my hard drive, but this did not seem to help. Regular DVDs play back fine. My system is an xp2800 with 512 megs of PC3200 ram, and 2 7200 rpm hard drives.

Had the same problem with DV files on a Matrox G400 graphics card on one computer. On the other computer, with a Radeon clone card, it looked good on video out.

However, after rendering an MPEG2 file in TMPGEnc bottom field first (NTSC), it played fine on both computers and the final DVD on the TV.

Seems that the Matrox card was playing the DV file with reverse field order. Never could figure it out.

    Regards,

    Chas
