So i have my svcds and copied the mpg file from the mpeg2 folder from my svcd and I opened up tmpgenc plus and went to environmental setting and then checked "Open sequence files as a movie" under the general tab. I then started the wizard and clicked ntsc 4:3 which is what I used and chose cbr mpeg-1 layer II audio and then I went to load my mpg file from the SVCD. When I tried to load it, it said file not supported. Anything I need to do to get it to load properly?

Conversion is not authoring. I'm moving you.

You must install a mpeg2 codec. Or try the dvd2avi conversion.

You should also use something like ISOBuster to extract the mpegs instead of doing a straight copy from the MPEG2 folder. Doing it by simple copy doesn't remove the mode 2 header info. That could be why TMPGEnc won't recognize the mpegs. You might also want to try installing the TMPGEnc MPEG-2 Plugin.

    hey thanks for the tips.

I installed both things and then I went to load the mpeg-2 file which I ripped with ISObuster instead this time. It loaded fine w/o any problems. I hit next and next again on the wizard and got to the set bitrate screen. I set my resolution to the smallest size for a fast encode and then I set the bitrate to 40% of the DVD since I will be adding more tracks. Hit next and then put in a name and clicked encode. It encoded for like 2 or 3 seconds and then tmpgenc plus crashed on me. I tried it again and the same thing happened. I would really like to encode with tmpgenc since it's the fastest and easiest way and the only other option I have would be to use framserving with CCE and I don't really want to do that. Anymore ideas anyone?

ok instead I am doing this...

I loaded my mpeg-2 file into dvd2avi and created a d2v and mpa file. I load it into tmpgenc plus and encode and it works fine. The only problem is that sometimes tmpgenc doesnt want to load the d2v file and Im not sure what to do then. I just restart the program and try again until it loads it. The error I get is, dan't load d2v file because unsupported or can't be used or something, Anyone know why this is the case? I tried all the things to get the vfa plugin but I have tmpegenc plus 2.59 so it should be built in right?

Did you try raising the priority of the DVD2AVi Project File Reader? Good job for improvising, by the way.

Yea I set it up to 2 or something which was right behind direct show, maybe I'll put it at the top so give it a 4. But it just bothers me that tmpgenc will sometimes load the d2v and at other times won't. Is this normal at all?
