  1. I have a couple of SVCD disks that I'd like to put on 1 dvd. Do I have to convert both formats to DVD or can I just burn as SVCD and the player will play it as a SVCD just on a dvd disk?

    Depends:
    1. SVCD to DVD is the most compatible as in you actually authoring the files a dvd
    2. SVCD to DVD where you just slap the mpeg's on the dvd can work in some dvd players, not all

if you have a dvd i would just go about the SVCD to DVD process

    its not hard at all
in fact, i got a tutorial up on it

go to my website, click SVCD to DVD and off you go
let me know if you have any problems

    enjoy

ffmpegX has a great "s/vcd>dvd" tool which works great on my two standalone dvd-players
