  1. Hi there, I have a question about how to burn vcd or mpg files onto a dvd-r and have it playable on any dvd player. I tried to look on the website but I'm a newbie to dvds and too many guides kinda confused me. Basically I want to be able to take a bunch of mpg or .dat files and put them onto a dvdr with basically the same quality as the vcd. I want this only b/c my cdrs can only hold 80 mins but I believe a dvdr can hold over 3 hours of vcd quality right? Cause my friend has a dvdr with different videos that had a total running time around 3 hours and 30 minutes. Any help would be greatly appreciated and btw can anyone pls tell me how many minutes a dvdr can hold of vcd quality video? Thank you so much.

https://www.videohelp.com/vcddvdr Not sure how much you can put onto a DVD-R but i've put over 6 1/2 hours of personal interest material onto one DVD-R. MPEG 1 + AC3 sound, i've got a right arm like Popeye.

It's actually around 7.5hours . Here is a link to a guide that uses Isobuster and TMPGenc DVD Author . I like this method,
