2 ways --
capture it with a capture card or dv transcoder
or
put the tape into a digital 8 camcorder and transfer via firewire"Each problem that I solved became a rule which served afterwards to solve other problems." - Rene Descartes (1596-1650) -
Only if the digital 8 camcorder supports Hi-8 analog format. Not all do. I think that most Sonys do.Originally Posted by BJ_M

Right and, typically, the lower priced Sony D8 models are not backwards compatible (example = TRV460 is while the TRV260 is not).Originally Posted by MpegEncoder

Go out and buy a TRV22 while they're still available and use its A/D passthrough feature.Originally Posted by vasta
You'll end up with what is, IMHO, a nice miniDV camcorder (at a good price) for future shoots and the ability to transfer all your Hi8 stuff to your PC without much of a hassle.
