    Hello,

I have just converted a DIVX file to MPEG2 using TMPGEnc

I then exracted the audio from the DIVX to a wav file using Gold Wave, then converted the wav file to AC3 using besweet.

So now i have a video and audio file

    The video file is 4.30Gb

    The audio file is 271Mb

When i use TMPGEnc DVD Author to make the DVD it says theres not enough room on the disk, i am using 4.7Gb DVD-R disks.

How can i make it fit ?

    Cheers

  2. a 4.7GBb DVD doesn't hold 4.7 GB of data, only holds something like 4.33 so you need to reduce the size of your video, audio, or both

I have encode the AC3 at 192 bitrate, that makes a 203Mb file.

    Still to big

How can i reduce the size of the video ?

    Cheers

Finish it off with TMPGnc DVD Author then shove it through DVD Shrink, then burn to disc. Easy

    Doesn't 4.30Gb + 271Mb = 4.57GB?

As steveryan said author your video and audio in TMPGenc DVD Author , it will probably give you a warning about nonstandard DVD or something like that , click ignore or continue antway and complete the authoring stage.
Then open your VIDEO_TS folder in DVD Shrink and let it shrink the folder to fit a DVD-R.

It wouldn't matter if your video was 2GB oversize it would work fine that way.

The reason you had a 4.3GB video + you audio in the first place is that you didn;t calculate your video bitrate correctly in the first place. Have a look at this guide to see how to do it correctly.
