MTV to launch its own line of condoms

MTV has announced plans to launch its own line of condoms with German company Condomi, London's Financial Times reports. Bill Roedy, president of MTV Networks International, says the condoms will be available in stores frequented by young people, including Virgin Megastores and MAC Cosmetics, so that sexually active teens and young adults will be able to easily purchase them. "The idea is to try and take the embarrassment out of the purchase," he says of making the condoms available in youth-oriented retail outlets. The network hopes the condoms will especially appeal to young women who may be too embarrassed to buy condoms at a drugstore or to ask their physician for them.

Hmmm.... buying condoms from a retail outlet that mostly hires hot, model types. Less embarassing...?

Virgin actually tried to launch their own condom range a few years ago however they used a shoddy condom manufacturer and it failed miserably.

MTV went down once they had shows like The Real World taking over spots where they use to play music videos. I remember when you could turn on MTV at any time and see a music video, but now they have 1/2 hour blocks where they show the same videos they showed earlier.
I also remember when MTV would have made fun of bands such as N'Sync and Backstreet Boys, but now they play their videos over and over and forget about the real musicians.
Once people started yelling at MTV, "Hey you should change your name, you don't have music on your tv station anymore", they went and made MTV2 to play videos, but you have to sign up for it. Crap, Crap, Crap, Crap, Crap. MTV is a waste of time. -

I havn't seen it again yet. I can't wait for it to come out on DVD. -
When MTV started giving serious playtime to Menudo, N'Stink and the Back-Door Boys, I decided I'll just wait for metal mania to come on and occasionally watch VH1 :P

I would rather watch 2 drunk turtles fornicating on a TV with Rabbit ears, getting a poor reception than watch MTV.
