I'm not really sure where this is best posted but here's the situation.
Is there a way to transfer the still digital photos from a digital video or still camera from the card to a Jump drive or cruzer mini or a portable hard drive?
<edit: I have SD and XD photo cards>
I've presented this question to countless people at stores and just get that tillted head puppy dog look. Maybe I'm off base who knows.
I even thought of buying a 7:1 flash reader to hook to a portable hard drive or a regular hard drive placed in an enclosure. Some people swear it works but they're not sure how.
Any answers or directions to go?
Thanks.

I have a Iomega Fotoshow zip drive that can read CF and SC cards and record directly to zip disks, without a computer involved. If the drive included reading firmware and a card slot, then, probably yes. Just a bare external drive without them or a computer, I believe wouldn't work, though.

As far as portable, no computer storage goes, Epson has a new hard drive with LCD that can do the job. Archos also has something like this. There are at least 2 other devices out, you might want to ask at http://www.dpreview.com in the forums.Hope is the trap the world sets for you every night when you go to sleep and the only reason you have to get up in the morning is the hope that this day, things will get better... But they never do, do they? -
theres not as much suport for the xd format as others but you can buy cheap adapters to use them in sd slots. You need a mobile picture archiver? search for imagebank or many digi photo sites. I have been told that many internet cafes will burn your pics to Cdr for you at not too bad prices (snappy will also do this)

The electronic components of the power part adopted a lot of Rubycons.
