  1. Hello. I just wanted to ask if a XVID file could be put into SVCD2DVD and converted. Do I have to convert the XVID first. Can I do that with TMpgenc? I would also like to say thank you for SVCD2DVD. Its made everything so easy for me. Its really worth its weight in gold. Great program.

    It might be possible, but I think you are going the long way around. If you put it into TMPGEnc and convert it to DVD ready format, all you would have to do next is to author it and burn it. Not sure where SVCD2DVD would come in.
    EDIT: I guess I should add that I like SVCD2DVD also. Great for converting all those DVD2SVCD discs that I encoded before I went over to a DVD burner.

    Will it convert a DivX movie? If it will just change your fourcc code from
    xvid to divx
    xvid to DX50

    that way it 'fools' the converting program into thinking its converting a DivX avi. XviD and DivX 5 are reverse compatable.

    SVCD2DVD only handles mpegs.

    What I do to do the xvid/divx to DVD thing is use MainConcept Encoder & SVCD2DVD:

    For High Quality (source & resultant DVD):

    MainConcept Encoder: avi to mpg using the DVD template
    SVCD2DVD: use on the new mpg. mpg has the DVD structure so SVCD2DVD will leave it alone & just author it (& burn).

    For Medium Quality:

    MainConcept Encoder: avi to mpg using the SVCD template
    SVCD2DVD: use on the new mpg. mpg is processed as normal.
    SVCD2DVD v2.5, AVI/MPEG/HDTV/AviSynth/h264->DVD, PAL->NTSC conversion.
