  2. Open the .AVI file in VirtualDub and scan for bad frames. Should it find any, this guide covers the correction you must perform:

This may well cure your problem.

    Best of luck,

  3. i've scanned for bad frames and it sayin...276 frames masked(1 frames bad,275 frames good but undecodable)...what does this mean?

  4. It means that the .AVI is damaged and a frame (picture) cannot be read by the encoder. I assume this causes the encoder to get confused and not read any further.

I think you're going to have to follow that guide and cut out your bad and undecodable frames. Here's a thread where a user has had a similar problem:

    https://www.videohelp.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=171394&highlight=frame+undecodable

Are there undecodable frames in parts before your freeze-up in MainConcept? If so, I don't think you'd need to remove them so that will save a bit of time.

    Hope this helps,

  5. I prefer to use this method on badframes:
    1) Load the .AVI file into the most recent version of either VirtualDub or VirtualDubMod

    2) Set "Video" to "Direct Stream Copy"

    3) Select "Check for errors"

    4) Select "Mask bad frames"

    5) Save with a new filename
