  1. Im going to be purchasing XP in a couple of weeks but I am very curious if it still have the 4 GIG limit like win98 does. I tried win2000 but my all in wonder radeon just keeps freezing it after 3 or 4 hours of encoding which can be really annoying. Any help would be appreciated.

It depends, if you format or convert your partition(s) to NTFS there is no 4 gb max file size limit but if you use fat32 you will still have the 4 gb limit.

  3. Does a maximum of 4GB pose a problem?

I'd rather call that as a limitation...that you can only capture a certain number of minutes of video because you've reached (or exceeded) 4GB.
