  1. I have created on pc miniDVD which plays back fine with pc and WinDVD or powerDVD - with authored menus etc. perfectly. I notice in the VCDHelp comparison section it indicates that mac with software DVD player should play back miniDVD OK.
I've tried it on a friend's and it doesn't. Typically it will try to play the first 10 or 20 frames of video, then it freezes, and has awful trouble trying to catch up. Never got any audio at all. I know very little about macs - his is a G4, 350MHz I think, SCSI hard drive, and a front-end called AppleDVD.
    Any suggestions??

Does he have a DVD player? (shouldn't be a difference)
try downloading the newest version of Apple DVD Player.
But it sounds like it's a problem with the bitrate, but I never had this problem on my iMac. try lowering it..
