use a tool that can keep the aspect ratio like TMPGEnc.

  3. I used TMGENC to re-encode my DivX to MPEG that will work on a DVD...BUT

    It didnt work

it goes fine for a while, then, at around half way thru the movie, its out of sync with the rest if the film. I have the WAV seperated by using VurtualDub.....if it would work, i would:

    Cut WAV out: VirtualDub
Re-encode, using WAV for audio: TMPEGENC
Create appropriate files for DVD: TMpEG DVD Author
Burn DVD: Nero Burning ROM v6

    Whats wrong???

check the time of your video stream against the time of your audio stream i was once using goldwave to resample an audio stream and had the same problem. Come to find out goldwave was screwing up the stream made it 4 min. shorter than my video stream

  5. A little bit more information would be helpful.
use gspot to get information about the avi file and the post that info here.
also post the steps you are taking to convert the avi to mpg using tmpgenc.

The movie skips at one point, and after that, the rest of the A/V is out of sync, how to fix?

I fix stuff like that with AVISynth. Just break it into different clips at the skip or wherever it is your audio goes out of synch and offset it from there with a delay. Load the script into VDub and extract the wav and encode it to whatever audio format you're using for your project.

I wouldn't be laughing too hard, Travis F, for the joke dafreak was making was at you.

You need to detail each and every step you have taken in every program you have used if you are going to get any meaningful replies.
    If in doubt, Google it.
