Hi all , im kinda a n00b when it comes to dvds so please be patient with me![]()
Im thinking about buying the first season of Oz on dvd. The problem is that this dvd is us / canada region and my dvd (LG DVD 5183) only plays european region. Now i wonder a couple of things that perhaps some1 can help me.
Would it be possible to like with somekind of software to make a image of the dvd and then convert it to europe region and it would work on my dvd ?
Or should i get that LG 5000 series multi region hack, and is this hack safe ? And even if i would use that, would i still get normal colors on the tv ? (now im thinking of my psx / ps2 which requires a rgb cable to play colors when not using PAL, perhaps isnt the same with dvd)
Oh yea, and i really dont know, but can all dvds play burned dvd discs ?

1) Go to RPC1.com and do a little research there. I have an LG drive myself, and I found it absurdly easy to flash to RPC1 (Region-Free) status.
2) DVDShrink, which is free, has a provision to remove Region Codes from the software you encode with it. I don't know which other programs allow this, but that's a good one to start with. -
plenty of programs to make a region free disk. i would suggest region free hack, easiest way for you. the color thing your talking about has to do with you tv.

Oh i see, how do i know then if it will be fucked up ? and is it possible to prevent this from happening ?
and btw, that dvd region free hack , it says that it cant be a 700 mb cd and it should be burned in 24x , is that just pure bs or ? and once again , is it safe to apply this region free hack to my lg dvd ? -
Install "Anydvd" and you can play any region. No need to flash the drive.

and well , i did check those programs u guys wrote about , but i cant find anywhere in those about converting regions or how to make my backup region free, help
About the image thingy , since my psx / ps2 importes is in grey i guess it would be same thing with dvds since my tv is PAL, isnt it just possible to get a cable to correct this problem that is most likley to accure with import dvds?
