  1. How you measure CCD size? Bigger is better? Anyone knows what CCD size have Sony TRV22, TRV33 and Canon Elura 60?

    Thanks

    CCD size in measured in pixels
    the TVR22 has 800,000 or 800K
    the TRV33 has I think 1,000,000 or 1,100,000 1Mp/ 1.1Mp
    not sure on the Canon
    since the DV frame is fixed in size the only benifit of a larger CCD is for either still image functions or digital stabilising which still isn't as good as a properly designed optical stabliser

  3. CCD size:

    TRV22 = 1/4 inch

    TRV33 = 1/4.7 inch (NB: this is less than 1/4 inch)

    Elura60 = 1/4.5 inch (see note for TRV33)

  4. Good source for this information is here. Scroll down a bit, look on the left side of the screen, and you'll see a list of new camcorders.
