Does any one know of a way to capture a TIMED 1 hour clip using Vegas 5 and an ADVC-100? When I use the advanced record and put a time in, it wants to control a video device (such as a Digital Camcorder). If I can't, I'll revert back to using MF2 for the captures.

I presume you leave your machine alone, judging by the fact you want to time it to record.

In this case, you could set it up ready to capture and, before pressing the final button to capture, leave it there and use macro software with a timed trigger to press the button at the preset time for you. A clunky solution, I know but it might work until you find a more elegant one.

Scenalyzer sounds like a lot better way to do it ..

If it's anything like Vegas 4, then it should have something in the video capture menus.

Go to Options, Preferences, and Video and there hopefully should be something for Timed video capture.

OOPS, Make that in the Vegas Capture Program, Options, Preferences, Capture, not Advanced Capture. Hopefully it's not too different from 4.

Thanks for the suggestions. Yes, I leave it alone for long periods (watch TV, go to dinner, cut the grass, etc.). I've got a lot of movies and old laser karaoke disks that I've been SLOWLY transferring to DVD. The Scenalyzer looks good, but, if I have to use a second program I might as well use MF2 since I already own it.
