I got my Optorite DD201 in the mail today. I installed it fine and immedietely upgraded to firmware 2.50E. I have not burned any DVDRs yet but have burned and copied a few CD-Rs succesfully. My problem is that when there is a CD-R in the DD201, and I try to open Nero InfoTool, the program freezes, the drive stops responding, and I have to press the reset button. This only happens with the Optorite, not my Acer CDRW, and only when there is a already a burned CD-R, not a DVD or CD-ROM. I get the same with InfoTool in both the bundled Nero 5.5 and Nero 6. DVDInfo Pro works fine for me though.
I have read about similar issues with some Plextor drive. Anyway, what is going on? It really pisses me off to see my new drive freeze my computer. Hopefully this is an issue with InfoTool although I can't imagine why they wouldn't fix it in version 6.
