  1. Just wondering how different people deal with heat. I am always warm - I can go in a shirt in the middle of winter and not feel the cold. However, in the heat I suffer. Currently, I have a 12" fan by the window sucking cool air into my room to try to cool it off a bit. It's not even summer yet, but it has been unseasonably warm.

However, some people I know are always cold, and only comfortable in the hot weather.

It would be interesting to know the spread of people who are sensitive to either extreme, or just average over it all.

  2. I <your choice of expletive here> hate hot weather!

Luckily, I can wear just about whatever I want at work, so I can dress accordingly. It gets between 95°F and 110°F during the summer, and the humidity is about 50%.

I am right at home with cold weather. If there's no wind, I'll wear shorts even if it's below freezing outside.

I should be living in Alaska.

It gets like that around here too. Except the humidity is up in the 70-90% range. I hate summer!!

The hot, muggy weather is now over for Sydney, Australia as it is getting cooler in the mornings.

April as very much warmer than usual so far now and I am still waiting for milder days to come.

These days now as pretty warm and dry, around 73° F.

Winter is coming soon and this mean I will have wear a jacket or coat when I go out.

guess it depends what you consider cold .. cold to me is around -20C and below ... but when its REALLY cold like around -40 or -50 and there is no wind , the air is so dry its really comfortable .. add wind and your sunk ..

really the same goes for heat -- depends on the humidity factor a lot ..

I reside on the NW coast of California. Lots of rain. Temp varies from AVG 50F to 70F, always 80% humidity. It gets above 85F here and the old folks drop like flys. Good news is, a 40 min. drive inland gets you temps of 100-105F in the summer, with humidity below 15%, nice to have options. I tell the tourists that complain about the cold that in LA, you would have to pay for this climate and they would call it air conditioning..

All these variants in temp are scaring me.
here, cold is -2C and hot is around 25C - 29C
sometimes we'll have one really hot day a year and the press jump on the fact its hotter here than the carribean/florida/spain/N Africa.

    How about -30c - (-22 - degrees Fahrenheit & below).
Ice crystals form from your breath. You can't take in the air
direct, you have to use a mask. Clothes are so frozen that
they crackle when you move. In the evenings when coming
in from outside, you take painkillers
in advance, so that the re-circulation in your limbs in the warmth
    does not make you scream.

wimps ... everyone just walks around in -30 to -40 ish temps .. no mask is needed ... as long as no wind and dry, your ok .. though your skin will freeze in a minute with windchill factored in if some wind (i've been in -70 wind chill conditions and that is not to nice) ..

clothes are not frozen -- but at -50 your oil in your car is ...

we live in igloos you know here -- no big deal ....

I love the heat if it's dry heat. Same with the cold.

We're over a mile high and we get highs here of about 104F (40C) maximum, but the humidity is only 10 or 15%. Very tolerable when it's dry. And it always gets down into the mid 60s (18C) at night even during the hottest weather. The coldest we get is about 8F (-13C) in January, but little snow or ice. We're high desert and only get 7 - 9" of moisture a year. It's a very comfortable climate and we have seasons too .....it isn't always the same thing like southern California or Hawaii.

  18. We get temperatures were I live upto 45° C / 113° F with high levels of humidity but luckily I live only a short drive from the beach and my current house has a swimming pool.

Also my university, house and place of work are airconditioned.

As for the cold, it doesn't bother me either. I've walked around in sub zero temperatures wearing nothing but a pair of shorts and some thongs and felt comfortable.

Yeah I admit it.. I'm a wimp in cold weather but the temp I quoted
did not incude the WCF which makes it -80+ and the wind off the
plains blows throughout winter. Oil turns to putty, metal snaps, trees
    explode.

EXACTLY the same here. I am also a welder and DAMN do I get hot in the summer. I mean so damn hot, sweat is litterally POURING off me the whole 8 hour shift. I like to go home after that where its 60F in my place.

I heard it was 100°F in Phoenix today. I'd believe it, the last thermometer I saw this afternoon said it was 90°F up here on The Rim.

I was born in Texas and lived here my whole life, and I HATE the heat and humidity.

Every year I dread the 6 months of hell we call summer.

That's what my California friend said UNTIL she spent the summer with me here in Texas.

It might not be so bad if it weren't for the humidity and BUGS!!! Also, when the temp gets over 102 degrees F, it makes me want to barf.

Yeah, I love going to California during the summer. San Jose area is pretty much in the 70-80s during summer with low humidity. Much better than 95 with 80% humidity in Chicago.

Chicago is bad enough. Not as insanely humid as Houston, but anyone who has sat on the Dan Ryan in a traffic jam in July knows what real discomfort is
