  1. I have a few vcd compliant mpeg1 files I made back in the day when this place was called vcdhelp.com. Since I didn't know how to author chapters in a vcd back then, I made all the chapters separate files so I could skip across the disc with my old apex. For some reason, the audio part of each file is slightly shorter than the video. So what I did was merge all the files back together with TMPGEnc so I can compile these onto a DVD and there ended up being a slight audio delay towards the end of the file. Is there any merging program that will insert 'silence' in between the sections of missing audio instead of shifting it over?
Do you remember when TMPGEnc needed an English patch?

  2. Since they are compliant VCD files (44,100Hz) and you are going to DVD compliant (48KHz) you will need to convert the audio. Since you are going to convert the audio anyway - to correct the audio sync issues I would simply load each MPEG1 clip into VirtualDub and adjust "Audio" "Interleaving" "Delay audio by" and sync each clip then save the audio (Save Wav) out to a file. Run this corrected audio file through Tmpgenc in ES AUDIO ONLY mode and convert them (the audio files) to 48KHz MPEG Layer II.

To save a few Multiplex and Merge steps I think I would just import the clips into my DVD project as chapters like you did before and instruct the program to use my corrected/converted audio files for each clip instead of the original audio they contain now. The program should build an in-sync dvd with no problems.

    Good luck.
