I record a film on HARD DISK (or DVD-RW), I make chapters in the commercial inserts and then I erase them.
During the play of the cleaned film, the point of the breaks, that is the LAST FILM FRAME before the erased insert, stays FROZEN in the screen for about one second before to continue with the next chapter, that is film continuation after the erased advertising.
Now, two questions:
- is the described occurence normal or my DVD RECORDER PIONEER
5100H is defective?
- if it is normal, is there anybody that can suggest me what I have to do
to eliminate this annoying problem.
Thank in advance, bye!

Sounds to me like you are DIVIDING the titles into separate chapters. This would cause the pause between chapters.
Its best if you just use "chapter edit" - press chapter mark at the start/end of the ads and then erase them.
I do this all the time. It can free up a lot of space eg the other day I reduced a 1hr 30min prog to just over an hour! And I dont get pauses where the Ive trimmed the ads out.
Also just wonder if you have "Frame Accurate" on or off?
