Make my Philips DVDR70 regionfree?

I see on the dvd hacks page that I need one of them One4all remotes
to make my recorder regionfree, but Ive also read that I can
use the IR-port on my laptop, in conjunction with this software
named "Remote 1.3" to do the same thing.

Obviously, I fancy the second solution, since I rather not
buy another remote, and anyhow I cant find it anywhere near
where I live.

So, do anyone know how I can do this?
I read that I need some sample from a remote capable of
doing this trick.
