A little background before the question: I am editing (cutting) captured VHS files; I can only capture in MPEG2 - can't capture in AVI.
I purchased TMPEGenc Author as it can edit (cut) as well as author and burn with minimal loss of quality - the image quality of my VHS tapes is poor to begin with and my priority is quality over production 'slickness.'
Ok, now for the question: After completing all the above steps and viewing the DVD, the quality is great, but the transitions between cut segments is strange. There is a moment's hesitation before the next section starts - like the image freezes for a moment. Could this have something to do with where the cut takes place? I realize that I am editing a compressed file, but not all the transitions display this characteristic. How can I eliminate this effect? Any advice?
Thanks
