  1. Since last week I´m facing a terrible stuttering playback of my captured DV-avi movies not just in P/Pro but also on all other software like MS-Mediaplayer.
Have followed the link on adobe.com but this didn´t solved the problem.
Maybe it´s caused by an auto update Windows or McAfee software I dunno. Does any1 has faced the same probbies and solved it ....... please let me know.

    BTW I´m running an AMDAthlon64 3000+, RAM 1 Gig and a Radeon 9600.
Free RAM according to RAM Booster: 700Kb

    Thx 4 the help.

  2. Are you referring to playback of DV-Avi (large file) or to playback of a file compressed from DV-Avi source (small file)?

Playback of really large or uncompressed files really taxes your hard drive. The file is stored on a larger portion of your drive compared with a compressed file. If the read-write head has to read non-consecutive blocks to find it then your Media Player will just have to wait for the data. It wouldn't really be a problem if we all had Solid-State hard drives (instant access). We all have to deal with mechanical limitations regardless of how fast our CPU's are. When is the last time you defragmented?

If your having trouble with playback of a compressed file i could wonder if the field order got reversed somehow during encoding.
