  1. I read all the guides here on backing up dvds. Is there a program that will pretty much let you rip the movie and just the movie? I mean a program for dummies. A friend of mine is NOT to PC savy and I want to get the easiest way for him to back up his collection. He has a kid on the way and wants to be safe his collection is safe in a few years of terror to come. If ya know what I mean.. KIDS!!!!

Is there a program that will rip just the movie and then you can burn it with say Nero or other software? Something without having to remove extras and menus and such....

    Thanks to all?

You could try DVDShrink. It's free and easy enough to use. Just select the main movie. If you wanted the extras and menus, watch the original DVD.

For movie only I'd recommend DVDXCOPY Xpress rather than DVDXCOPY.

But DVDXCopy no longer decrypts movies so you'd still need a ripper that does like Decrypter. I'd suggest he take 10 minutes and learn to use Decrypter plus DVDShrink or just Shrink.

He sounds like he does not want to learn. He already said he doesn't know much about computers. He wants to copy the movie without modifying(hence once again dvdxcopy)
