Has anyone used these type of DVD's? I have never tried "Matte" finished ones.
Thanks -
I am on my second pack of these. While some were getting RITEK media early in June, this lot seems to be all RICOHJPNR01 stuff because my second pack ordered several days after the first also turned out to be Ricoh.
The quality is what you'd expect from Ricoh-branded stuff - excellent. My Plextor 708a has not produced a single coaster from these and random testing using Nero's CD/DVD Speedtest showed no problems reading towards the end of the discs, which is a sure sign of media that doesn't get along well with the Plextor.
It's actually an incredible deal even at the regular price, but $.48-.49 (the price varies on newegg's site) per disc after rebate is outstanding.
Don't try and burn these above 4x though - others had problems. I always burn at 2.4x myself to ensure best possible quality. -
Oh, and by the way... the "matte" finish is really just their silk screening on top of the discs. They leave a printed space for you to write titles in on the lower left of the disc - which I found slightly irritating because it is very small, but the discs are printed so faintly, you could write all over them and you wouldn't notice unless you got up close.
