I have been using this new recorder for a few weeks, with no real problems, but I have just discovered a small problem or too.

1. It has sound synch problems when playing VCDs. By the end of the movie, the sound is delayed by a couple of seconds. I have noticed this problem in some other cheap players as well. Is it so hard to play a VCD?

2. Fast Forward is supposed to be 3 speeds, 4x, 8x, and 32x. Unfortunately, 8x is the same speed as 32x (i.e. both are super fast - 32x)

Are these problems that may be fixed in a firmware update? Also, where do you get firmware updates. I notice some sites have some, but none for this model. (probably because it is too new) Is it worthwhile trying to contact Magnavox? The complication is they are distributed by another company in Australia (Mistral, I believe), so the model is not even listed on any Magnavox or Philips web site (that I have found)
