Time stamp capturing

I have an TRV530E model handy cam and like to capture a dvd quality
video (avi or mpeg) with time stamp. Can you tell me which software
market will capture the timecode stream from the Hi8 or digital tap.
I contacted the mydvd support and got the reply that
sony will have to provide a software which will read from
the timecode stream.
Please tell me the software which will capture the time stamp of the
digital 8 tap.?
