  1. Hey folks,

I'm just getting into creating VCDs (converting old home movies) and I was wondering if there was a way to use MPEG2 files instead of MPEG1? Is this the definition of an SVCD? I've used Toast Titanium to create a couple of VCDs and they were just ok. So I was hoping to increase the quality by using MPEG2 files instead. I have Astarte M.Pack which can create the MPEG2 files. Can someone tell me how this can be done?

Also what about adding menus to VCDs on a Mac? I've seen a great tutorial on using EZ CD Creator on a PC to do this, but that doesn't help.

Thanks for any help anyone can provide.

    Regards,
    Chris

I found an intersting article in the November-issue of ComputerShopper when I was in the US a couple of days ago. Converting shouldn't be much of a problem on a Mac, but burning obviously is. They say that only Nero has the capability to burn SVCD's oder even X(S)VCD's (right now). By the time they went to press. Toast (even Titanium) was not supposed to do that. Too sad, because I would love to learn more on the same issue. Please, if you here more - shoot me a note. THX.

  3. Try to use my app, vcdtoolsX (a gui and tweaker built upon vcdImager) or vcdImager. It can output .img-files that Toast can burn in XA multitrack mode.

    It works great for SVCDs.

  4. Hi,

I was at your site yesterday (I think I emailed you too). I'm not running OS X, so unfortunately I can't use your app. I did download it though, just so I would have it, but it wouldn't unstuff. I have both Stuffit and Mindexpander. But anyway, I still need a solution for OS 9.x

    Thanks,
    Chris
