I Know is a known tool, but I discover it a week ago, and if there is somebody doesn't know, so...

It is regij .

It is a simple interface tool, but it has a high power for back up DVD's

You can transcode the vob files making mpg-2 files smaller with a simple touch and in less of 10 minute in Athlon 2600+. Yo can simply demux the ac3 files, the subtitles and mpg-2 file of a vob too without recompresion..

It has a simple but very powerfull author DVD tool. The problem is you can't make menus in the resulting DVD, but you can add the soundtraks you want, the subtitles you want ( directly from original DVD), you dont need transform them.

If in the movie, there is high motions scenes, you can do one thing, recompress the low motions scenes ( vob files there are), never less than 70% for quality recompresion, and the high motion scenes simply demux and then merge them with tmpegen mpg tool for example, the you have a resulting video near perfection.

To finish, I have used many dvd author applications, dvd lab, dvd lab pro beta..., but if you dont need a menu in your DVD, use regij, i am going to do.
