I would like to be able to burn a video suitable for domestic DVD playerss compiled on Premiere Elements version 4.
I know that I can burn it inside Premiere successfuly but it needs recoding whenever I neeed a copy or when and if there is a problem with the burn.
I have tried several free burners wihout success.

If that doesn't work, your problem definitely lies elsewhere.

Most of what you said didn't make any sense. To me, anyway. You have to reencode when making a copy from your burned DVD? Doesn't make sense. You need to reencode when you get a bad burn? Doesn't make sense if you have the DVD files still.

Anyway, if you haven't yet tried ImgBurn then you haven't tried the best, free or commercial. If you've tried it and had trouble, then there's probably something wrong with either the files you're creating or your DVD media.

I don't use Premiere, but it sounds like you're using some wizard, like "convert and burn".

What would be better was if you could make it generate a VIDEO_TS fileset (VOB files and a few others). Then you can burn that, with ImgBurn as mentioned.

Or maybe Premiere can create an ISO file, less flexible, but you can burn that too, and with either you can burn as many copies as you want.
