I know SONY DVD Architect very well. It's a terrific toll! Now I was looking for something....a little bit further. I've tried Ulead DVD Factory but some of its features doesn't seem to meet my goals. Iwas absolutely sure about Ulead's ability o edit menu templates (for instance, background images) but I don't know how, now, I can't find this feature anymore - help please. Well, to make this topic more concise, I'd just like to know what would be considered the best software for dvd authoring (includding subtitles and ac-3 option).
    Pinacle Studio 9?
    DVD Maestro?....any hints?

For creating source, most of the better NLEs now support AC3 through plugins. If you use Vegas, stick with that, otherwise look at Premiere etc.

As for taking your DVD authoring up a notch, I would look at Adobe Encore (if you have the money), or DVD Lab (standard or pro). DVD Lab has much better capabilities than DVD Architect, and the Pro version (once complete) will be a whole new ball game.

There are other alternatives such as DVDIT PE, which I haven't used, but other may have opinions on.

If you want better feedback, how about some ideas around what you want to achieve.
