  1. I have always encoded video using cbr mp3..... but was wondering about vbr. Does anyone know if this would make divx or xvid videos non compliant with any players? Any experiences or advice would be welcome!

  2. I assume you're talking about software playing, as opposed to a DVD player that supports MPEG-4. In answer to your question, I have always used VBR MP3 audio in my DivX files, and I am yet to find a player that has trouble with it.

Best thing to do is try making a small clip and see if it works with your preferred player.
