I have a few old Super8 I want to preserve for future generation. I don't have have a super8 player anymore, but I can borrow one.
Before they get too damage, I would like put them to CD-R. Would there be a way to do this?

if you are talking old 50 foot reels of super 8 color film, prolly best to have a commercial service do them for you. Do a web search for sources.
if you're talking 8mm video tapes, then start with reading over in the l/h green section of this page for "how to's" for making VCD's...Always check helpfiles/instructions before leaping... -
What I have done is have some old Super 8 converted to VHS. This was a present for my Mother.
When it fell into my possession, I recorded the VHS to my hard drive and then edited out all the un needed parts; added titles etc.
This then I put onto an XVCD.
If you are worried about the quality of the VHS then don't. The quality of the Super 8 converstion is never going to be brilliant (esp from the sixties when mine cam from) so the degridation of a VHS signal is non existant.
