I used SVCD2DVDMPG to prepare 569MB VCDs and could only get 4 of them onto a DVD disc with Sonic myDVD and 3 on NeoDVD. Am I doing something wrong or should I be using a different program (a free one?) to make and burn the DVDs? I'd like to get 7 hours of video on one DVD.
Thanks.

I can fit 5 onto i dvd using tmpgenc dvd author and still have some space left. I encode the avi's with kvcd templates.

I want to create very simple 7 hour DVDs. Are there any freeware programs that will do what TMPGEnc does? Also, I looked into kvcd templates, and it said that they don't process audio. Is there a template that does?

Mpg1(vcd) are already dvd compliant and dont need to re-encoded,only the audio needs to be resampled from 44khz to 48 khz and tmpgenc dvd author will change the audio for you,you can fit roughly 7.5 hours of vcd doing it this way.Dvdauthorgui and ifoedit are the only freeware programs i know of for dvd authoring.
I think,therefore i am a hamster.
