  1. Hi,

I have been trying to convert my TV Showshifter recorded MPEG files into DVD format so I can burn them to DVD disc. The software I am using for this is Adobe Premiere Pro.

I have encountered a number of problems, but the real kicker comes when I try to edit the sequence to extract files. My sequence consists of an m2v file for graphics and an mpv file for audio. I wish to edit out the adverts that were recorded, hence I wish to extract the frames that consist of adverts leaving the rest as it was.

When I try to do so, I can extract the adverts using the In and Out selectors and extraction button on the Project movie window, and all appears well. However, when i come to play back the encoded sequence, the audio goes out of sync immediately after the point where the adverts were taken out.

For some reason, the extraction of these frames has caused the audio to go out of sync. I am using ripple editing, so the software should be ensuring there are no gaps left behind after the extraction.

I am using the Mainconcept mpeg encoder for audio and video. I can see no reason why this problem should happen, and as far as I can tell I can't find anyone else with this problem.

In the past, DVDRHelp has been good to me in solving my problems. Please, please can someone out there come to my rescue? I really am at my wits end. I can see no reason why this should be happening, and no way of correcting it (short of leaving the adverts in, which is no way to solve it.)

    Can someone out there help?

    Thanks,

    Dan

  2. For reasons I never quite understood, I never had any luck editing mpeg or mjpeg files in Premiere Pro. It was slow and I always got audio sync issues. I did the go around with Adobe on their support site but nobody was able to help. I suspect Premiere Pro is not designed to edit mpeg files but to edit files in raw AVI format or DV perhaps (from a digital camcorder) and then you can output it to mpeg for authoring

If all you want to do is remove ads then I would suggest you use Womble - dead simple to use and doesn't break audio sync
