Tried to open In the Bedroom with DVD shrink 3.176, the program complained the disc was copy protected. Shrink 2.3 would open and render for a few minutes then claim it's a region code problem. The disc is labelled at region 1,4. Tried DVDxcopy express this made a copy, but it does not play.
Could this disk be protected so none of my programs will work?
Plays fine on the computer or stand alone player.
TIA

Try to rip it to hard drive first with DVD Decrypter and then open with DVD Shrink.

I had similar problems with this film. Neither Decrypter nor Shrink would produce files that resulted in a playable dvd, though the original was fine. I posted about my difficulty and got a few replies that the posters had no problems ripping and burning the movie. I gave up after two days. It's the only time in about 200 tries that I couldn't back up a disk.

The only time I have not been able to rip a movie was due to scratches on the disk.

I always rip with Decrypter first. Never had any problems with any version of Shrink using the Decrypter ripped files.
