  1. Greetings:

With many DVD backup software out there I am wondering which one is the best one and best suited for backing up movies, able to remove what you don't want such as Extras, Trailers, Making Of, Commentary etc. and fast?
Effectively, I had a collection of KungFu movies and some of them (3, 4 years old) doesn't want to play anymore. I would like to backup my collection before it is going out of hand. The most important feature to backup for me is the Video & Sound (DTS, AC3 only) quality (preferably with no or as little as possible compression), Main Menu, English Language Setting & Subtitles, and if possible fast (DVDShrink + Nero v6.3 take more than 1H to fully backup and burn 92Min movie). I don't want all the extra, trailer, the making of, commentaries etc. I just try DVDShrink with Nero and doesn't like it since it doesn't allow me to delete Extras, Making Of etc. If anyone else use a different product and is happy with it, your feedback is greatly appreciated.

    My hardware:
    ABIT KT7 RAID
    TBIRDS 800 MHz
    2X 256MB HI-PERF CAS 2.2.2 MUSHKIN
128MB PNY NVIDIA QUADRO XGL 750
2X 120GB 7200RPM 8MB BUFFER ATA 100 WD on RAID CHANNEL PRIMARY AND SECONDARY
1X 9GB QUANTUM FIREBALL ON PRIMARY MASTER STANDAR IDE CHANNEL.
16X DVD-ROM LITEON XJ-HS166S (doesn't work with DVDShrink) ON SECONDARY SLAVE STANDAR IDE CHANNEL
8X4X24 DVD±R/RW/CD-R BENQ DW822A 8MB BUFFER ON SECONDARY MASTER STANDARD IDE CHANNEL

  2. Unless there is a problem with your files DVDShrink should be able to remove extra content from your videos in "Reauthor" mode.

As for time, if you bypass "Deep Analysis", this should shave quite a bit of time off your processing although it may affect the quality of the output. However, if your file is smaller than 4.3 GB, there will be little (if any) compression involved.

  3. DVDShrink is the best DVD Backup software available hands down
Look, let me explain something. I'm not Mr. Lebowski; you're Mr. Lebowski. I'm the Dude. So that's what you call me. That, or Duder. His Dudeness. Or El Duderino, if, you know, you're not into the whole brevity thing--
