  1. I've got a trial of PowerProducer 2. Everything works fine except I can't get the software to burn a DVD-R disc. It complains that an error occured 'in the burning software development kit (SDK)'. My only other media is a DVD+RW which burns fine using PowerProducer.

I don't think it's a drive problem. I can burn the VOB files to the DVD-R disks using Nero 6. My Liteon drive is not listed in the supported hardware list, but it seems odd that one type of media will work and one won't in a drive that supports both.

Has anyone else had this problem?

  2. Hi hoping I can help or u can help me if you have solved the PP 'problem'?
I also have demo/fully registered copy of PP and PowerDirector-came with a pc mag.
Nice interfacae but will not burn or let me make disc image to burn later, just freezes up.
No reply from the company, so I suggest this is why the software was free?!?

I have since trialed Tempenc PLUS AND DVD AUTHOR , the first seems fine, but I will probably purchase VAGAS and DVD Architect which is packaged with it as the interface is better and it seems more stable-no sync problems with souond like TMPEGENC DVD AUTHOR seems to have.

  3. I gave up on PowerProducer. The problem I reported here was just the tip of the iceberg. After a clean install of WIN/XP, PP2 still had the burn problem, and it also caused the built in CD/DVD funtions of windows to quit working: AutoInsert notification was hosed, WMP would no longer recognize my recordable drives, and the 'Copy files to CD' wizard said the drive contained no media.

I switched back to MyDVD from Sonic. It doesn't support my capture card, but it seems to do a decent job creating DVD's from my DV camcorder.
