  1. Just got a capture card from a a friend and on reading the
instruction it tells, most VCRs have a video out and an audio
out cable, my sanyo vhr has an aerial in and out and an audio
red and white, it goes on to say connect the video out on vcr to the
composite video in on the card and the audio from the audio output
on the vcr to the audio line in on the card.
I'm just a little confused, the video in on the cards yellow and looks
about the same size as an audio connection, do i need a special cable
with this type of plug on one end so it fits on the vcr.

my sanyo vhr has an aerial in and out and an audio
    red and white
Most VCR's have 3 RCA outs (Yellow=Video, Red=Audio right channel, White=Audio left channel (stereo))
Some have 2 RCA outs (1 Video, 1 Audio (mono))
Are you sure your red and white outs are both audio, 1 of them mabey Video

I'm just a little confused, the video in on the cards yellow and looks about the same size as an audio connection
    Yellow=Video

do i need a sort of 2 to 1 audio cable, 2 into the audio
on the vcr and 1 into the card
Mabey, if your VCR is mono then you will

Check if both the plugs on the VCR are audio or not.
    Hope this helps

  4. Audio are Left and Right one red one white where i would
conect the leads to my hifi amp, there's no yellow on my vcr.
Its a nicam vcr and what i was thinking was a cable with 2 ands 1
connectors, 2 into the video and the 1 into the card.
Are all vcrs the same? USA are different i think.

Sounds like you need a VCR with RCA video out (composite).

If you have 2RCA audio Out on the VCR, and 2RCA audio In on the capture card then you dont need a 2 to 1 cable, as they are both stereo. If your capture card has 1RCA In then you will need a 2 to 1 cable.

To capture the video you will need RCA Video out (composite) on your VCR. looks like you wont be able to capture video, just audio.

Mabey I'm wrong, but am just trying to help

showing in the pic, well the 3 i have only come with this.
They've 2 scart plugs, maybe i can get an adapter of sorts
plug it into the video scart, my xbox has an adapter.
This is why i gave up converting albums because its to
    tech for me to handle.

Not sure if this applys but I own a VCR that is about 10 to 12 years old. It has a red and white RCA jacks on the back. One is video and the other is for mono sound, odd but true. All other VCR's and A/V equipment I own follow the standard Yellow=video and Red & White=audio. Are you sure one is not for video? I live in U.S. if that helps.
