I tend to use Ritek G04 DVD-R, or Memorex DVD+R (RicohJPN ones), no coasters with either in the 6 months I've had this drive.

  5. I have a TDK 440N (supposedly the same as the NEC) and use Ritek G04 with no problems so far.

  6. I use Optodisc. Both 2x Silver top and 4x Gold top. a pack from rima.com is like $70 and they have great compatibility. Have worked on every dvd player i've tried.

Yes it does! Get some G04 -R or +Rs with RICOHJPN01 media code. Go to "DVD MEDIA" section and read about the media you want.

  9. Use the media or dvd writer topic on left column.

Btw, meritline dot com lists its media by writer.

  10. i found TDK DVD+R to be the best brand for my ND-1300A...

i seem to have trouble with any DVD-R media. I tried using Princo white tops and Shintaro's, both i could only burn at 2x with.. dont knwo if anyone else has this problem

I purchased some cheapo CompUSA just toplay with and 100% of them worked in my DVD player and friends.

I also used them on my XBox and they work every time. Was pleasantly surprised.

I'm using the hacked 1.08 version with the bitsetting.
