........how can one come up with something that someone else hasnt thought of? It can be frustrating trying to come up with new content or original artwork, video clips or logos to use in your own work...things like that. With so many ideas already out in the open, I have always wondered how could an inspiring person come up with something that no one else has thought of, and dont have to worry about copyright issues. An intriging question.

while i think some portions of originality might at times overlap, i still think there is plenty of originality to be found
i have just recently completed a small movie for a project i have to do for a class that i'm taking, and i doubt that anyone has ever thought of any portion of it -

Well it's kind of like NFL football...it's a plageristic game.
I don't think creation is always about thinking of something that no one else has ever thought of....I think it is about thinking about the same things differently.
I know for me personally I like to watch TV for special effects....like here during Marchmadness everytime they have a game break or something, there is some kind of video effect going on. Now I wouldn't want to copy that exactly...there is no fun in that....but I will try to recreate it and then I will apply those concepts to something completely different. Sportcenter is also a great resource for ideas.
I don't know about anyone else...but for me, I kind of always work backwards. I always think..."hey, wouldn't it be cool if I made it do (or look) like this............" and then I set out to make it look like that. Problem with this method is that by the time I get it finished, I have changed how I wanted it to look, there's always something that could make it just a little better....it's a vicious cycle..

Ideas and phrases are not protected by copyright - you're allowed to have the same ideas...just don't copy exactly what someone else already created.
