I'm reading about the coming blue laser's. DVD players with blue laser will be released that will be backward compatible with existing red laser retail DVD disks. The new blue laser DVD players will play existing red laser retail DVD disks. What happens when they release retail blue laser DVD disks?
All existing red laser players will be unable to play the new retail blue laser disks, wright? Does this mean that the ten's of millions, maybe one billion existing DVD players won't be able to play the new retail DVD disks?

Blue laser will be rejected by consumers. It will be slightly more successsful then Circuit City's DIVX rental format. This is the VHS/beta format wars all over. Dual inventory's of software, two incpmpatible hardware players. Blue laser will be a niche format, like Laser disk was. A fringe higher qaulity format ignore by the average consumer.
