    Hey all,

I am using Nero 6.3 to burn my dvds, and it works fine with Memorex DVD+R, it will write at 4x no problems.

I just bought a spindle of 4x Memorex DVD-Rs, and Nero wont let me burn higher then 2x! It wont let me change the speed in the drop down menu, 2x is the only option.

It says 4x right on the media, any ideas as to why it wont burn at 4x?

DVDInfoPro in the tools section should allow you to read the media speed rating. Decrypter will also show you the write speed(s) available but I believe only after you start the burn.

  3. I just bought some Memorex DVD+R 4x media. It was CMC Mag produced with an ID speed of 2.4x, but a write descripter of 4x. Others warned, but I ignored. Be careful of the Memorex; at least those in the tall cake with the 3/4 inch white spacer. I have another set in a tight cake (no spacer), and they are RicohJPN--a pretty good product.

Hi! Can you be more specific. What's your dvd-writer model? Is it GSA-4040B ?
