  2. At this time, DVD lab does not accept subtitles directly. So you have to either hardencode the subs or use infoedit to insert the subs. Check out the guides for this.
I understand that the next version of DVD lab will handle subs.

  3. speedguide:

1: create your video+audio DVD compliant streams
2: turn your subtitle file into an .srt (with subtitle workshop or SubRip), if it's not already in .srt
3: use SRT2SUP to creat a .sup file from your .srt, .sup is used by IFOEdit
4: dont forget to jot down the hex colors in SRT2SUP (at the end of creating the .sup)
5: use IFOEdit's 'Author new DVD' to mux the three streams (audio+video+subs)
    6: import .VOB(s) into DVD-lab
7: if more than 1 .VOB was created, go for the third option (merge .VOB's) when DVD-lab asks you for it
8: Author your DVD as you usually would, and compile when done
9: Open the VTS_0_01.IFO with IFOEdit, and enter the hex color codes from SRT2SUP in the right place
    10: Burn the bitch

I think you should definetly download the 1.4 b2 upgrade for DVDLab. It now supports subtitles in srt and sup format.
The more I learn, the more I come to realize how little it is I know.
