  1. I'm transferring my videotapes to my PC with AIW9700pro and MMC8.9. Recently when capturing from VCR (JVC HR-S7700) if VCR stops playing and capturing is stopped after that, the MMC goes into 'not responding' so no mpg file of the capture is ever made.
I have Pinnacle studio 9 with patch 9.0.8.9 and Ulead DVD workshop2 on my P4-2800 with more than enough disk-space.

    What to do?

Either spend countless hours (like I did) making MMC 8.9 work, or uninstall it all an roll back to version 8.7 (most stable). I still have 8.7 on my 2nd system, no plans to move it.

  3. Only have MMC8.1 on disc.
edit: But found 8.7 on the ATI site

Everything worked fine before applying the 9.0.8.9patch for Pinnacle studio 9 (which is definately needed to make Studio more reliable)

  4. Just remembered: had set Studio to auto-scene split every 20 minutes yesterday. Maybe that's it cause capturing short thingies does still work.

  5. Grrrrrrrrrrr, have been fiddling around with my PC and MMC config to rectify this. Took ages, no relief. Turned off power of VCR when MMC was in 'not responding' and hey presto: everything worked again. Bugger.................and hooray.

  6. Sigh....

Turn off VCR trick does not work anymore. MMC stays in not responding. Doesn't anybody have a solution or even the same problem as me? When capturing in avi, things do work. It's only when capping in mpeg that I have the problems...
