  1. Hi,

    I use FaiUse to convert DVD to Avi....i am satisfied with all results except i always get unsersized picture (two black thingy's on each side...one light black one dark black...this is difficult to explain so i ATTACHED SNAPSHOT)...is it possibile only to get dark black and automaticly bigger viewing picture?

  2. never used fairuse.see if there is a option to crop.
    you need to crop the preview so you dont see any of the black bars before ripping.

    Do these line appear on a standalone DVD player that playes (S)VCD. Some software video players show the total image. This will not be a problem when played back on most standalone DVD players and TV's. The overscan on most TV's will hide these lines at the side and on top also. Most comsumer standalone DVD players also do not show the complete image, they are often shift a slight bit to one side or another or they have a slight oversacn just like a a TV.

    But if you are only playing the movie back on a computer then these lines will be present.

    Change your player settings to display without letterboxing. Or did you encode it as letterboxed? Dnaces with wolves ia Anamorphic (2.35:1) so your AVI should be something like 704x300 to keep it from looking Skinny/FAT. Alternately it can be 1128x480 if your really ambitious (and have a fast PC).
