Just got let down by a firm for a plextor dvd writer. Since I ordered it has found quite a few uneasy comments about it anyway. Now I am looking for one pronto...X8speed? - and +. Nero or whatever? willing to spend up to £120. Please there are so many mixed comments and I am no tech whizz kid.............Liteon, Pioneer, Plextor, etc etc etc ....anyone please?
Just as reliable and fast as possible.
thanks

LG GSA4081B (tri-format rewriter) - around £74 from www.ebuyer.co.uk.
You could also try the newer LG GSA4082B although this will cost a little bit more (£86).
Good luck with your purchase!Mantisgeek -

ps any dvd writers that really write at x8?...best burnign software? -
Maxntraks....do you have to be so rude. I am a novice...no I will not be able to put a dvd writer in my pc and burn 100 dvds the same day. I said I am new to all this and I meant it. I came on here wanting sound advice from dvd writer owners who know which work well and which dont. Its that simple really. Just want advice not a course on dvd writing.
I do hope I get some replies like the first two who actaully seem to understand my plight.
Thanks

I'd look for a BenQ DW822A its the only burner out ther that's firmeware upgradeable to do DVD9 or dual layer disks. Plus its dual format and has bitsetting.

I am far from a know-it-all when it comes to things related to DVD, encoding, authoring, etc but I know that I have learned more from reading the guides and doing searches as opposed to asking for information that you can find on your own. You have no idea of how many times I've had to rebuild my system after installing the "next great thing" in DVD authoring or whatever after it hosed my pc, knowing that if I did more research I could have saved hours and hours by NOT installling "the next great thing" in DVD related software... One thing I've learned is that there is more information HERE then you'll ever need... take the time to research and you'll find yourself the answers you need.
