It used to be so easy on cdr's. I could usually tell that tdk was Ritek, and so on. But on DVD's, for example, who makes Sony's? and are Memorex any good?

I have some tdk's now and Nero's info tool could not tell me the the maker. Could someone tell what brand you buy.

Staples has Sony DVD-R on sale starting 3/28 for $9.95 for a 10 pack.

Advice desperately needed. I'm sure this is a common questions here. Sorry to beat it to death!!

First off get DVDInfoPro instead of Nero to check your manufactuers.

Sony is considered OK as long as they are real sony's, real TDK and Maxell when you can get them are great. Memorex is considered crap by most people, however sometimes memorex are not actual memorex so your mileage may vary.

Alot of the really cheap stuff in stores turns out to be Princo which blows... for decent disc that are affordable look into Ritek disc purchased online.

And the Shop4tech Matrix media that they and other online retailers sale, do NOT belive their lies.

  9. I didn't think it is that hard to find.....

Here is one place you can order it !!!

    http://www.meritline.com/taiyo-yuden-dvd-media.html

I personally feel Taiyo Yuden is the best media out there. But like I mentioned before... As long as the box indicates "Made in Japan" it's pretty safe

Run a google or MSN search on Taiyo Yuden DVD-R and check other prices too...
