ATI AIW 7500

My ati 7500 will only allow 640x480 avi capture. I would like 720x480 avi capture. Is it a card limitation? Will any of the newer cards provide the 720x480 capture in avi?

no your card should capture in 720x480

did you try changing the settings?

what capture software, codecs, and drivers are you using?

I'm using the latest ati drivers. When I go to the drop down list the hightest choice is 640x480 no 720x480. Using a huffy codec.

I use this card myself. It is not a limitation of the card or MMC. However, it could be a limitation of the new preset you're trying to set up.
Try selecting "Full resolution" or "DVD" in the main selection menu under "map preset". If you don't see either one of these in that list, there is another problem.

The 7500 AIW can do higher captures. I don't know what program you are using to capture but in Virtualdub the highest frame size I can choose is 768 by 576. Look for the wrapper.zip file that might help.

8.9 works the best. Seems to fix the "grainy" issue that has been reported on many other boards.

Offhand I say that I have no problems with my 7500 AIW and any version of mmc and wdm capture drivers. Try the wrapper.zip file that might help.
