Hi,
I recently purchased the Ellion DVR-900 Multi-region DVD Recorder, and I need some help.
http://www.amazon.co.uk/exec/obidos/ASIN/B0000DZBNH/ref=sr_aps_electronics_1_2/202-9973177-7172652
I don’t know too much about DVD recorders and their connections, but the main job I bought it was for recording from video cassettes to blank DVDs. I thought that if I connected a scart from the video player to the DVD recorder, that would work, but it hasn’t. I also tried connecting a red/yellow/white audio/video cables, and an aerial cable, but this hasn’t worked either.
On the back of my DVD recorder, it has the following connection points:
• AUDIO IN
• VIDEO IN
• 5.1 CH AUDIO OUTPUT
• COMPONENT VIDEO OUTPUT
• VIDEO OUT
• DIGITAL AUDIO OUT
• SCART AUDIO/VIDEO OUT
• RF IN
• TV OUT
When I have tried to do this, when I press record, it says ‘error’. It is not the discs, they are the compatible DVD+R, and I tried DVD-R and they definitely do not work. I thought that as when connecting to video players together, you would be able to watch what you were recording through the DVD recorder.
Also, I don’t know whether I am selecting the source for recording from correctly.
Please help me as I don’t have a clue and I’m pointless having it otherwise. Let me know.

Try format the disc...
VCR out to Recorder in
Recorder out to TV input
No idea about scart, mess arond a little u will get it.. -
If you read your own post, it says "Scart out".
Obviously, you cannot input a signal there.
Are your VHS tapes store bought Hollywood type movies? If so, the recorder is probably programmed to not copy them. All you can do is pass the signal through a time base corrector or anti-copy device.I don't have a bad attitude...

Have you selected the correct channel on the dvd-rec? When I set mine up I had to select "cam1" on the dvdr. Or it could be EXT1, or A1 depending on your machine. As the previous poster says, you need to connect to the dvd recorder via the video/audio in sockets, if the scart socket on the recorder is output only, eg: scart/ audio/video out on the vcr to audio/video in on the dvd recorder. Hope this helps.
